Anderson New Tech Students Create New Mental Health Policy

February 18, 2014

A group of Anderson New Tech students have created a proposal for youth mental health policy that would allow teenagers to attend up to three sessions with a therapist without parental notification.

If the teenagers met certain criteria, they could continue to see the therapist without parental notification after the first three visits.

"Our focus on this subject stemmed from personal experiences with mental health issues and wanting to improve the mental health system," said Rebecca Peconom, a member of the group.
